Kristin Hart joined Merritt, Webb, Wilson & Caruso, PLLC in 2004 where her practice has concentrated on representing Plaintiffs in civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury, negligence, and insurance law. She has also advised and assisted clients in areas of consumer finance, creditor-debtor law, product liability, military law, landlord-tenant law, and identity theft.

Ms. Hart earned her Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Political Science from Southwest Missouri State University in 1996 and her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1999. After completing United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and earning her officer commission in the Marine Corps in 1998, Ms. Hart attended the USMC Basic Officer Course in Quantico, Virginia and Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island in 2001. Ms. Hart then served as a Judge Advocate in the Marine Corps until 2004. While in the Marine Corps, Ms. Hart received extensive litigation experience representing Marines and Sailors accused of violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and Federal law. In addition to litigation, she also practiced in the areas of consumer law, administrative law, family law, estate planning, and a variety of military law issues. Ms. Hart was admitted to the Navy and Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals and was a certified Trial and Defense Counsel. Ms. Hart is a recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Ms. Hart is a member of the North Carolina Association of Trial Lawyers and a recipient of Pre-Paid Legal Service’s Excellent Service Award.
