Katie Jenifer

Katie Jenifer (she/they) has practiced primarily in Family Law since graduating law school in 2020. Prior to coming to Merritt Webb, Katie was an Associate Attorney with The Child’s Advocate at Legal Aid of North Carolina, providing direct representation for minor children in high conflict custody cases in Wake and Durham Counties. Additionally, Katie worked in a small private firm handling both Family Law and Estate Planning cases. She also worked for more than two decades in nonprofits serving North Carolinians. Katie has done everything from running a Victorian era state historic house to being policy director for a statewide organization.

She earned a B.A. in American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a M.A. in American Studies from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, and a J.D. from North Carolina Central University in Durham. She is a member of the Pauli Murray Bar Association and has won recognition for pro bono service from UNC School of Law, the North Carolina State Bar, and the North Carolina Bar Association. In her free time, Katie likes to spend time with her family, be outside, volunteer to assist others, and read.

Katie is overjoyed to be part of the Merritt Webb legal team and looks forward to providing our clients and members with the excellent legal advice and information along with exceptional customer service.
